Anti-Building – Complacence with Entropy

Peace…

When I lived in Mississippi, I found myself sincerely desiring public transportation. Starkville, MS wasn’t that huge (about 21,000+ population), so the need for public transportation other than the University shuttles wasn’t high on the city’s list of priorities. There were a few taxi services offered, but they tended to be pretty unreliable when you wanted to get to work on time. As dirty, stinking, & filthy-mcnasty as the buses of the Milwaukee County Transit System can be, the luxury of not having to drive myself everywhere (still have a sore left shoulder from hours upon hours of driving), wait on a mystery taxi that may never show, or depend on friends for a ride those times when I was w/o car made me miss the bus (no pun intended). Oh, & let’s not forget high ass gas prices & maintenance, insurance for shit that ain’t gonna happen, makes you wanna give your car away , which in fact I did…

Taking the bus might seem like torture to some, but to me, @ least up to this point, it’s been a jewel. Plus, I can’t stand having my time wasted getting pulled over for bullshit. I recall once driving home from grocery shopping with my (ex) Earth (she remembers this too I’m sure) & our hungry, crying Son. The sun was either setting or had just reached the horizon, so I didn’t bother to turn on the headlights because it was a short drive. Of course we get pulled over. It didn’t occur to me that I was yelling at the cop until I saw the shocked look on his face. I then reflected on what I said to him & it was something to the nature of “Why are you wasting my time when I need to get my Sun home to eat?!? Don’t you hear him, what if I stopped you from taking care of your child?!?!?” He nervously explained why he stopped me, so I turned on the lights like “Ok, they on, happy now?!?!” The Earth knew for sure I was goin’ to jail that evening, but dude ended up letting me go with no ticket (showing forth & proving Power) & I ended up @ home asking myself why I didn’t do that more often…Anyway, one of the things I missed most about public transpo was one of my favorite pastimes: People-Watching…

The other day on my way to school, near about 23th & Burleigh (Milwaukee citizens know the deal with that area), I noticed 3 or 4 new houses being built. This was kind of surprising given that anyone with good sense& money would buy a house a bit further west on Burleigh, unless they planned on renting them out. Apparently two Original Women on the bus noticed this also. I don’t recall all of the dialogue, but I remember one saying: “They buildin’ all these new houses over here? Shiiiit, they tryin’ to do TOO much!! LOL”. It was the tone that gave away how she felt, & the tone to me said that she liked things just the way they were, fucked up. The fact that the other woman laughingly agreed wasn’t too promising either. This Styrofoam cup of hater-ade is nothing new here, you almost get used to it, but this time stuck out to me, & it struck me as odd that a woman wouldn’t want to see her neighborhood beautified. Thinking of it now, it’s also odd that someone waited until its starts to get cold to build houses, but that’s another topic...

Did I say something to these two women? No, what can you say to that when all that’s gonna come out of it is an argument where she’s defending her ignorance? I won’t change a “grown” woman’s (or man’s) mind that doesn’t want to be changed. Ignorance is a paradox of bliss and hell, who am I to take that away from her when she’s so comfy in the cool flames? Later that day, I had a conversation with an Original Man about the complacency of our people, & to paraphrase our conclusion, we agreed that too many people are just used to fucked up & wouldn’t take advantage of opportunity if it was came with their EBT card. They bitch & moan about how things are shitty & don’t make up their minds to either a) stay away from the shitty shit, or b) change it…

Thinking on it today, in regards to Knowledge Build/Destroy, it’s safe to say that some don’t Know the difference between Building and Destroying. When some “Build”, it consists of tearing someone else down so that they can feel their nuts or ovaries a bit more, & continue to be comfortable in their bullshit. I’m not against correcting, & I’m not saying I’ve never been guilty of the same in my past or in recent slip-ups. If criticism isn’t constructive though, its borderline hypocritical if not crossing the line. Then some Destroy self, home, community, lives, characters, minds, etc. & never acknowledge it as such, because it’s building up their wealth or fake ass confidence/reputation, whatever. The people that I knew that some would call criminals, @ least had good enough hearts to admit to & feel bad about the wrongs, just couldn’t see another way bc again, it’s what they/we were used to. As far as they saw it, it was on some Robbin’ Hood shit (pun intended), & I can’t act like I wasn’t torn between Building & Destroying @ that time along with ‘em. Still, I respected their honesty & worked to reach who & when I could, with varying results…

We are trained from every day bombardment to focus on the negatives of life. Hell, me even writing based on a negative situation & using it as a springboard is a testament to that fact, & if you’ve read this far, admit it, you’re just as guilty as I (keep reading though, a point is being made) What I learned, is that blindly reacting only feeds that negativity more, throwing kerosene on the fire (“Ron pass the gasoline the nigga passed me kerosene? (huh)/fuck it its flammable…” – Notorious B.I.G.). We all Know all TOO well how to Destroy! Granted, Destroy is a natural process of life’s cycles (google Entropy, which in layman's terms means Things Fall Apart), that doesn’t mean that that’s all there is though. Turn on CNN, or Fox News, your local news, maybe even the weather channel, & I guarantee over 85% of the hour (including the commercials) is dedicated to the ugly shit that happened that day. We’re desensitized & numb to it & sometimes can’t admit or see where we’re perpetuating the madness. So, um, where does the Building come in?????

All of the above is describing how some people are programmed to be fatalistic, as opposed to programming themselves to be deterministic. Culture/Freedom for me negates the idea that we are somehow pre-programmed mathematically or genetically by the Universe to live out life as tinker toys, wound up to walk a random path we can’t control. Free Will is a reality, take it or leave it. Within a limited selection of choices there’s still a choice, so there’s no room for excuses, only reasons for making the choice. Even in situations where one has no choice of action, there’s STILL the choice of what one wants to THINK, FEEL or SEE in said situations. That’s where the Free Will is, & thus, where the Power is.

I’m training myself to CHOOSE to smile whether I acKnowledge Building OR Destroying going on, when I want to be reactive & up-set, I’ll laugh instead. Not because it’s funny, rather because I caught & stopped myself from being set-up, caught up & falling victim. I’ve trained myself to CHOOSE not to feel a way about certain things so that I can remain objective, & not get caught up as a subject (What King or Queen should be a subject in their own domain?). I teach & train others to do the same, with varying results. It’s NOT easy, yet, I can see no excuse, even for myself, to NOT take the Best Part of EVERYTHING. Now, if my known for blind-rage tantrums self can do it, I know other’s can too, once they see the futility of running their blood pressure up over nonsense. From my experience, & not-so-humble opinion, the Building starts with Building up self, so that Building anywhere “outside of” self is acKnowledged & Respected.

Peace…

9 Months Later...Self Cross-Examination

Peace...

It's been ENTIRELY too long since I've posted a blog here, I've been really busy in the 4-D world though, so pardon if you please...To all of the readers, I want to thank you for keeping the archives alive, and being satisfied with the thoughts (mine & other's) that I found significant enough to post here...When I started this blog, I honestly never thought that it would be as popular as it was/is, and it's you (the reader) who's made it that way, so all praises due to YOU!

August 2010 has been a turning point for me (moved from a 9-month Zag/retrograde into a new Zig/upgrade)...

  • My Eldest Sun turned 6 years old (I was proud of him before he was Born, same no matter what he Founds in Life)...
  • I've officially had 120 on cap for 8 years as of August 9 2010, not coincidentally the same day as the end of my 9 month Zag (read back to Novermber 2009 for details)...
  • I FINALLY finished my coursework for Network+ 2009 with a 91%!!! (the book is thick, but the terminology is thicker, big accomplishment & much more respect for those who undertook the previous versions)...
  • I learned more about Ramadan than when I was a practicing Muslim (didn't participate, but watching the Muslim Community this month gave me a new respect in some areas, and lost me in others)...
  • I've removed all rules & restrictions (other than the basics) when it comes to creating music, I had gotten to rigid IMO
  • I re-gained my respect for Kanye (he's earned it, that "Power" joint is hot!, never stopped liking his work)...
  • I learned just how much I REALLY don't like talking (I'm much better @ putting that energy into show & prove rather than show & tell, or even rather than show & prove & tell)...
  • I've officially started a new life for myself (knew the hard work & focus this year would pay off!!!)...
  • I seriously considered starting another new life (that's a later discussion)...
  • I seriously considered taking another life (I didn't, just know that he/she is alive & well)...
  • I visited a desert (my trip to Phoenix, Arizona brought Understanding of the phoenix legend & how it applies to Self)...
  • I visited mountains (plan on climbing one day, just not this month)...
  • I visited an ocean, the Pacific to be specific (not that didn't have respect for the Planet Earth beforehand, but that experience seriously changed the way I see this Biosphere)...

This year as a whole has been one of re-discovery of Self, & even though I didn’t necessarily like it, I needed it. I've re-bonded with family this year (long stories), learned to accept people as they are instead of how I would prefer them to be, & along with other random experiences I had this year, I was really reminded me of the potential that I've been hiding from myself, simply because...ok, serious confession here...I still somewhere deep down had concern for what others thought or said about me!

WHAT?! Allah Universal, Mr. "Take the Best Part, fuck the rest others can have the stress" caring about the poor part?!?!? Yep, I still did, & the worst part about it is I didn't see it.

Only by being honest with oneself can one move forward.

It was shortly after my bornday (June 8) that I re-examined everything that I "say" about myself, to see how much Truth was really behind those words...had some small areas in which I checked myself, no big deal. Had some small changes in my perception from that, kinda big deal. & then, the "attitude" I've carried for years about not giving a damn about what people think say or feel about me, I found it to have some MAJOR holes in it! This was confirmed by words that I NEVER expected to hear in my life...I was told (paraphrased)..."You're TOO humble! AND it's for Real"...Didn't know what to think about it @ first, said person was Right & Exact though, I was shortchanging myself in the name of "Compassion"...

Mind you, I used to be the most arrogant muthafucka I've EVER known, & was GOOOOOD @ it!!! Think, Kanye with a delusions of grandeur AND a God-Complex, that was me! I'm still not sure if I liked the attention or not, but I can't say I hated it! Over the years though, it brought me less troubles (namely less haters & less police attention) to just play shit cool & stay off the radar...but when I do something, I'm determined to be the best @ it, so I all but disappeared off the fuckn radar!!! In the process, I had unwittingly grown to care TOO much how people felt around/about me, simply because I didn't want ANY extra attention, meanwhile telling myself I'm working on being more "kind & compassionate"??? Bullshit!!!

I was biting my tongue in the name of compassion (& not liking to talk much, that part's true), & although it helped some people out along the way, in teaching them how to play it calmer & smarter, it was still VERY not me! I know for a fact I picked it up living in Mississippi, when I held myself responsible for being the only 5% that most of them would ever know or see (for a while), so I had to keep my P.R. game tight...I didn't realize I had compromised myself though...now don't get me wrong, I’ve still been assertive & punk still wasn't in my repertoire, but I let alotta shit slide (maybe just being wiser, who knows?)...The time away from there, again although not the best time in my life (felt like jail with school/work release), it's done me well, as it's afforded me the time to retune myself to myself, & therefore get back to being better @ being myself...My adventures so far this year, ESPECIALLY this past month, is all the confirmation that I needed...DO U, SCREW WHO LIKES IT OT NOT...

I’m still not seeking a spotlight, but I’m definitely gonna stop denying my Light, doesn’t do me much good. Even though it allowed me to grow as a person, it’s hindered my outward growth…I Know the Ledge from past experience(s) how far to go with Borning self-promotion, so just like everything else, moderation is key (Sirat al-mustaquim)…

Peace…

God Is Not A Super Hero (by DaGod Emblem)

God Is Not A Super Hero!

If there was a mystery God you'd just be a man and with the understanding that there is no mystery God-you're still just a man. Those who deal with the knowledge that the black man is 'God' sometimes co-op the modus operandi of the Mystery God almost in a comic book fashion.

High on the mountain top,the lightening bolt struck him out of the inky black, star lit night sky and an electric blue force field encompassed his muscle bound body. The 'A' on his red super hero uniform stood for 'Asiatic'. He was from the Asiatic Federation Of Gods and Earths, equiped with his super alphabet, super math and the utility belt of 120, he swore to protect, and teach the ignorant and slay evil with his mighty sword. His wise Enlightener with the long white beard said, "You shall be called 'Emblem Of Justice'" The engraved case was opened and there lay his glowing, flawless sword.

"Go out my Son and slay evil!" Emblem ran to the edge of the mountain to fly away, but he didn't fly, instead he plunged quickly to the rocks below. His last words were "Oh shit!" Splat!

"You should have taken the stairs dumb ass!" His Enlightener's voice echoed.

I used my name 'Emblem' in the above skit to illustrate I'm no better than you, I've went through my delusional period of knowledge of self. Yes, a delusional period! Many make the mistake of co-opting the identity of the mystery God that does not exist, and putting on the personified cloak and super hero costume of that so called mystery God. When the identity of the mystery God is co-opted a comic book like alter ego emerges and the delusional aspect of self begins. One day I sat back blazing on my powerful green medicine and it hit me. "Nigga please! You a movafuckin' man!" If man is God-God is Man, meaning you a movafuckin' man nigga. 'God' becomes a psychological defense mechanism, your cape, the 'G' on your chest, something that tells you to believe in yourself. God becomes your mask in the psychological mirror of the Self. It's therapeutic for the historically defeated black male ego. Being God becomes the new drug of choice. Calling on 'Jesus' never done a nigga much good. Many black men have been hung from trees in the south screaming Jesus' name in their last moments and Jesus ain't stop the lynch mob, and calling yourself God doesn't make you exactly bulletproof either. I've seen a God with the name of a 'Warrior' walk around with a black eye for months afraid to fight back against the 85er who blacked his eye, so he hid behind all of his grand warrior titles. That is delusional. Maybe a need to feel special when the world tells you everyday that you're not 'special'. Maybe hearing a beautiful black woman say in a sexy voice "Peace God!" is just what we need to comfort our fragile egos. Yes the universe is a lonely place, infinite unknowns surround us daily and the environment is cruel, hostile and unforgiving-'God' is a security blanket: mystery or otherwise. Maybe we need that 'G' on our chest. Being God is no big deal to Emblem-to me it means that I'm just a man(who is the original 'man'?), I'm not bullet proof, my hands ain't quicker than Mayweather's hands; Andersen Silva would fuck me up in a cage match; and if a hollow point catches my dome it's a wrap for DaGod Em. I don't shield my dirty religion in the name of Allah, but instead I embrace my vulnerabilities as a man. Yes the black man is God, b.u.t. The black man is also a 'black MAN'.

Peace
